Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Office Clerk to join our team at Hospital San Juan Capestrano. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely submission of claims to third-party payors and collection of outstanding accounts receivable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
  • Review and submit claims to third-party payors in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist with monthly invoicing to guarantors for continued care
  • Registration and charge entry for physician services provided in accordance with policy and procedure
  • Collection and follow-up on outstanding accounts receivable, maintaining a current collection list
  • Review and resolve accounts with credit balances, requesting refunds and/or adjustments as necessary
  • Document all collection efforts and contacts in the patient accounting system
  • Inform the Business Office Manager of any potential issues that may delay payment or impact specific payors
  • Resubmit claims as necessary, maintaining a log of claim resubmissions
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of medical billing and collections experience required
  • 1 year of experience in a similar role
