Medical Sales Specialist with a Focus on Cardiovascular Therapies

We are a pharmaceutical company dedicated to developing innovative solutions for acute conditions.
This role reports to the Regional Sales Director and is responsible for driving sales growth in the assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- Sales Performance: Successfully meet and exceed established sales budgets with accountability for territory results.
- Product Utilization: Drive appropriate utilization of approved products with healthcare professionals within assigned accounts, including Heart Failure specialists, cardiology, nephrology, emergency medicine, nurse practitioners, and other health care professionals.
- Business Development: Apply understanding and knowledge of heart failure and marketplace to effectively manage business opportunities and challenges.
- Customer Engagement: Provide relevant input to Regional Sales Director and other commercial and medical colleagues on field-based knowledge for potential strategic and tactical planning.
- Territory Planning: Prepare, maintain, present, and implement strategic customer and institutional specific territory plans.
- Marketing/Sales Initiatives: Execute marketing/sales initiatives to achieve business objectives for assigned accounts.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Be a model of Scpharmaceuticals vision, mission, and objectives. Actively participate in shaping the winning organizational culture.
- Expense Management: Operate within defined budgets for territory expenses. Manage resources to achieve territory and objectives.
- Training and Education: Conduct speakers programs (except where prohibited) in the territory.
- Customer Experience: Lead delivery of outstanding customer experience, satisfaction, and retention.
- Account Understanding: Establish and build deep understanding of account needs, stakeholders, and competitive situation of accounts.
- Sales Reporting: Utilize sales reports to identify territory potential and key HF stakeholders.
- Administrative Tasks: Organize and complete administrative responsibilities efficiently, including healthcare compliance, expense reports, call reporting in Veeva CRM, and other assignments by established deadlines.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college/university required.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of healthcare sales experience in pharma specialty, hospital, or medical device/diagnostic, or in-kind experience/expertise.
- Cardiovascular Category Experience: Preference given to candidates with experience in cardiovascular categories.
- Institutional Sales Experience: 1-year institutional sales experience preferred.
- IDN Experience: IDN experience is a plus.
- High Achievement Record: Demonstrated track record of high achievement as demonstrated in top 30% ranking 2 of last 5 years.
- Product Launch Experience: Experience with product launch.
- Medicare Population Experience: Experience in Medicare population is a plus.
- Teamwork and Communication Skills: Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution-oriented.
- Written and Verbal Communication Skills: Must be able to provide exemplary customer service. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and be a polished meeting presenter.
- Large Geography Experience: Prior experience working a large geography, based on market.
- Travel Requirements: Ability to travel overnight as needed within territory is required.
- HUB and Specialty Pharmacy Experience: Experience working with a HUB and specialty pharmacies.
- Prior Authorization Experience: Experience in Medicare population with coverage determination facilitation OR extensive prior authorization experience.
- CRM System Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office as well as prior utilization of CRM systems.
- Driving Record: Achieve and maintain a satisfactory driving record rating in compliance with the Company's Motor Vehicle Driving Record Policy.
Salary Estimate
The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000-$150,000, depending on experience and performance.
