Job Description:

We are seeking a Compliance and Risk Management Specialist to support our Compliance Lead in ensuring that our infrastructure, housing, and socioeconomic development recovery programs remain compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong research and data management skills, effective verbal and written communication, and excellent organizational skills. Experience with recovery funds such as Community Development Block Grants – Disaster Recovery and Mitigation (CDBG-DR and CDBG-MIT) is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret federal laws and regulations, including Uniform Guidance, 2 CFR 200.
  • Track grant and program requirements, applicable statutes, regulations, rules, and policies.
  • Provide program oversight assistance with grant requirements.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures for administrative, accounting, and grant compliance.
  • Track data and reports for monitoring visits and audits.
  • Write responses to monitoring visits and audits.
  • Initiate compliance audits to identify potential issues.
  • Provide compliance support for grant-funded procurements.
  • Develop risk assessments for internal controls.
  • Uphold quality control and compliance monitoring methodologies based on the requirements of the program contract and funding source.
  • Assist with communications and respond to inquiries regarding reporting, and regulatory and corporate compliance activities.
  • Advise program leadership on program improvements based on compliance research and findings.
  • Assist in preparing and/or reviewing reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, administration, management, or other relevant field.
  • At least 1+ years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance, accounting, or grants administration.
  • Knowledge of principles, techniques, and guidelines relative to grants and contract administration.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Benefits:

  • Estimated salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Hybrid work option available.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
