- Senior Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist will provide technical and regulatory guidance on environmental programs, focusing on recognizing, evaluating, and controlling environmental hazards.
This role advises management on proper procedures, work practices, equipment to ensure compliance with all legal requirements and regulations in these fields.
The ideal candidate will implement EHS self-assessment programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable local, federal regulations, and company directives.
Responsibilities include reviewing capital renovations and new construction projects to ensure environmental requirements are addressed.
Additionally, the successful candidate will administer environmental programs for the site, including delivering environmental training programs, leading environmental permits and reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining environmental records.
Other key responsibilities include classifying, handling, and disposing of hazardous waste, pharmaceutical waste, medical wastes in compliance with all company standards and regulatory agencies.
Competencies include Air Quality Management and Compliance, Solid and Hazardous Waste Management, Storm Water Management, Ozone Depleting Substance Management, Greenhouse Gas Management, Procedimiento Para La Transportacion De Materiales Peligrosos, Wastewater Management, Manejo De Derrames, Hazardous Materials Storage Tanks Management Procedure, Dangerous Goods Transportation, Control And Maintenance Of Asbestos-Containing Material.
The selected candidate will maintain statistics, develop reports, and file official reports with regulatory agencies.
The incident investigations program will be administered to determine root cause and develop an action plan to avoid recurrence, and improvements will be followed up on.
The role also involves keeping abreast of current technologies and regulatory trends.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor Degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or related EH&S field) and five (5) years of experience leading Environmental areas in the Pharmaceutical, or Chemical industry.
Fully cognizant of applicable Federal and Commonwealth rules and regulations is essential.
Demonstrated leadership skills, strong negotiation and influencing skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work under pressure of time, and capable of working with minimal direct supervision are required.
Good interpersonal skills and computer knowledge are also necessary.
A completely bilingual (Spanish and English) speaker is preferred.
Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum based on location and experience.
