About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Scheduling Coordinator I Psychiatry Part Time to join our team at University Hospitals. As an integral member of the Patient Access Services Team, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional appointment booking experiences for our patients, customers, and physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enter and validate medical, demographic, insurance, financial, and business data in a timely and courteous manner to ensure master patient index integrity and accurate appointment/encounter creation.
  • Explain pre-appointment clinical preparation requirements, provide patient education on third-party coverage and liabilities, and communicate possible payment options.
  • Collect, post, and balance co-pays, deductibles, and other patient payments.
  • Identify and communicate the need for interpreter services and handle patient inquiries regarding physicians, services, and logistics.
  • Maintain expertise in PAS legal and compliance requirements, incorporate principles into workflows, and recruit and train patients to access My UH Care Personal Health Record.
  • Ensure achievement of productivity and quality standards, maintain up-to-date knowledge of computer systems, insurance/government regulations, and UH/PAS policies/procedures, and promote collaboration and call center success.
Requirements
  • High School Equivalent/GED (Required)
  • Associate's Degree or progress towards degree (Preferred)
  • 1+ years of experience in call center, patient registration, scheduling, office, banking, customer service, or related medical field using computers (Required)
