Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver medications, controlled substances, and pharmaceutical supplies to patient care areas
- Monitor and maintain accurate documentation on the Controlled Substances Administration Log
- Manage drug supply and maintain inventory levels
- Label and package medications, including compounded and re-packaged items
- Perform pharmaceutical calculations and answer telephone inquiries
- Interpret physicians' orders and enter them into the computer system
- Generate labels and fill drug orders according to physicians' orders
- Refill medication carts and exchange medication cubicles as scheduled
- Assist with unit-dose packaging and accurate documentation of the process
- Fill drug replacement orders and maintain par levels
- Return drug credits to pharmacy stock and assist with processing discharges
- Stock shelves and note expiring or low-stock medications
- Assist with maintaining knowledge of the pharmacy computer system
Requirements:
- Pharmacy Technician License
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Hospital experience
