Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Administrative Assistant II to serve as the primary point of contact and representative of Lake Forest Cemetery. This role requires a self-starter who can assist the public with cemetery services while supporting administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage burial-related documentation, including orders, invoices, permits, authorizations, and legal documents.
  • Maintain and update cemetery records, maps, and the Cemetery Information Management System (CIMS).
  • Provide respectful and compassionate assistance to families, vendors, and visitors, offering information and guidance on cemetery services.
  • Oversee and update the cemetery's website and social media channels, ensuring timely and relevant information is accessible to the public.
  • Assist with accounts payable and other financial transactions to ensure smooth cemetery operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years of administrative experience or in a related field.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experienced in using various office software.
  • Ability to become licensed as a Cemetery Customer Service Employee (through the Illinois Cemetery and Funeral Home Association) within the first year of employment.
