Key Responsibilities

We are seeking an ambitious, friendly, and compassionate Medical Assistant to help us provide the best Rheumatology care. The role involves greeting patients, taking vitals and weight, answering patient questions, and rooming them to be seen by the Physician or APC.

The duties include:

  • Greeting patients and registering them according to established protocols
  • Assisting patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation including medical insurance
  • Ensuring patient information is accurate, including billing information
  • Answering incoming calls and dealing with inquiries
  • Scheduling patient appointments and collecting co-pays and payments
  • Obtaining external medical reports as required by medical professionals
  • Responding and complying to requests for information
  • Completing other clerical duties as assigned
  • Ensuring the reception area is well maintained, neat, and clean
  • Safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Assisting with charting and recording infusion vitals/administration
  • Obtaining vitals on patient prior to beginning infusion, during infusion, and at discontinuation
  • Performing verbal pre-infusion questionnaire with patient
  • Assisting with removal/discontinuation of IV
  • Maintaining sterile environment at all times
  • Maintaining drug inventory & medical supply stock
