Key Responsibilities- Instruct housekeepers in routine and non-routine housekeeping tasks
- Orient new employees to departmental policies and procedures
- Requisition cleaning supplies and linens
- Assign staff to morning assignments, extra duty assignments, and daily work assignments
- Act as a supervisor for assigned cleaning projects
- Submit work orders to Facilities Management for repairs
- Make frequent inspection tours of buildings to determine cleanliness
- Document problems, plan corrective action, and make reports to the Director of Environmental Services
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least two years of full-time experience in building custodial or institutional housekeeping work
- One year of experience in a supervisory capacity
- Knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Ability to use housekeeping equipment
- Physical stamina and endurance
A degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred. Knowledge of the policies, procedures, rules, and regulations governing assigned unit activities is also desirable.
