Accounting Leadership Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and oversee the accounting function, including all accounting processes, such as month-end close, reporting, compliance, tax, AR/AP, consolidations, collections, audit, inter-company activities, payroll reporting, expense review, etc.
  • Monitor the company's accounting information, internal controls, systems, procedures, and policies to identify inaccuracies while improving team effectiveness.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies/systems to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Assist the VP of Finance with implementing and tracking budgets, KPIs, hiring plans, commissions, and various other policies.
  • Lead the review of tax calculations, audits, and returns, international expansion, and related compliance/procedures, as well as managing local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
  • Assist with monthly variance analysis on actuals versus forecast.
  • Track meaningful financial metrics to monitor performance against team and company-level OKRs and financial goals.
  • Support various departments with ad-hoc requests.

Requirements:

  • 7-10+ years of experience in accounting and accounting leadership roles.
  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance, and a CPA.
  • Experience working in a technical startup (ideally SaaS).
  • Rich knowledge of accounting/GAAP principles (including ASC606).
  • Deep tax accounting experience, both international and local sales tax.
  • Ability to be flexible, thrive in, and adapt to a high-growth environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with a wide variety of teams at different levels, but is able to work independently and ensure commitments are adhered to with high-quality output.
  • Experience and excitement about managing people and developing talent.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with the tools we use: Quickbooks, Brex, Ramp, and Salesforce.
