Student Account Specialist

Job Summary:
The Student Account Counselor is a key member of the Student Accounts team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service to students, parents, sponsors, staff, and faculty. This role requires a high level of professionalism, effective communication, and a strong understanding of financial policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to students, parents, and staff
- Review and explain financial transactions, billing, and collection efforts
- Handle payments and apply receipts to student accounts
- Perform account audits and make adjustments as necessary
- Respond to inquiries and requests in a timely and accurate manner
- Initiate and execute pre-collection protocol through written and telephone contact
- Coordinate efforts with Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, and other departments
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and experience working in a financial services environment
- Knowledge of federal and college financial policies and procedures
- Knowledge of accounts receivable and collection principles, methodology, and practices
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment:
This role operates in a professional office environment and a remote home office environment. The employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Minimal travel is expected to attend training or conferences.
