Job Summary

Walmart is seeking a highly skilled Lead Counsel - Commercial Litigation to join our Commercial Litigation team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for advising business and legal leadership on legal rights, obligations, and risks while managing a docket of commercial litigation cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure consistent implementation of company policies and practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate legal and business risk.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to business clients.
  • Retain, manage, and collaborate closely with outside counsel to drive case strategy, review and edit court submissions, oversee discovery, and manage legal spend.
  • Manage outside counsel on commercial litigation matters.
  • Maintain budget compliance through consistent management of outside counsel legal fees and litigation costs.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to internal stakeholders.
  • Identify the need for legal support for business transactions and projects.
Requirements
  • Law degree from an accredited law school.
  • 6 years' experience in law.
  • License to practice law in at least one state.
  • 2 years' experience leading cross-functional teams.
What We Offer

Walmart offers a competitive salary range of $160,000.00-$320,000.00, as well as annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation may also include stock. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, vision, and dental coverage, 401(k), stock purchase, and company-paid life insurance. Paid time off benefits include PTO (including sick leave), parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting. Other benefits include short-term and long-term disability, company discounts, Military Leave Pay, adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, and more.
