Job Description

As a Pharmacy Technician at Bashas', you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy department. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong understanding of pharmacy laws and regulations, particularly those related to the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists in filling and dispensing prescriptions to customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring that customers are satisfied with their experience.
  • Comply with all applicable federal and state laws, as well as the rules and regulations of the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Perform counter service, receiving prescriptions and checking patient information.
  • Ring up sales on the register and complete sales transactions.
  • Log all third-party transactions accurately.
  • Provide information and advice on over-the-counter medications and healthy food products.
  • Respond to customer calls in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Take patient refill requests over the phone, call doctors' offices for refill requests, and direct calls to the pharmacist or pharmacy intern.
  • Accept verbal authorization for refill prescriptions.
  • Handle all other patient calls, transferring them to the pharmacist or other areas of the store.
  • Maintain computer patient files and prescription labels.
  • Prepare prescriptions, including counting, pouring, and reconstituting drugs with pharmacist verification.
  • Affix prescription labels, bag prescriptions, and place them in the pick-up section.
