Job Title: Histology Technologist

At RWJBarnabas Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technologist to join our team. As a Histology Technologist, you will play a critical role in preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination and analysis by pathologists.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare tissue specimens by treating with chemicals, slicing with a microtome, and placing on glass slides for microscopic examination and analysis.
  • Identify and report safety issues, such as hazardous environments, medical errors, and other concerns.
  • Assist residents in selecting proper stains for histopathology and immunohistochemistry staining.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and adhere to policies and procedures recommended by the Chairman of the Department of Pathology.
  • Prepare tissue specimens for frozen section examination and demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in histochemistry staining.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma and 1 year of full-time experience in Histopathology working under the direction of a Board-certified anatomic pathologist.
  • Preferred: AA/AS degree and ASCP Histo-tech certification.
