Job Summary:
The Associate Medical Coding Director is a key member of the Exelixis team, responsible for delivering high-quality coding deliverables for clinical trials and programs. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding processes, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a long-term coding strategy to ensure Exelixis meets industry and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and oversee Exelixis staff, strategic partners, and vendors who conduct coding activities.
- Conduct oversight of Data Management Coding activities to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
- Provide coding expertise and capability in support of global development programs.
- Partner with stakeholders to optimize technology and processes for efficient dictionary management.
Requirements:
- BS/BA degree with related health science background and 11+ years of experience, or MS/MA degree with 9+ years of experience, or PhD with 5+ years of experience.
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology/CRO experience in Medical Dictionary Coding, Clinical Data Management, and project management.
- Advanced knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines and applicable drug development regulations.
- Strong understanding of drug development and clinical trial execution.

- Competitive base salary range: $141,000 - $199,500 annually.
