Safety Manager Lead

Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) is a leading pharmaceutical company that transforms patients' lives through science. We're seeking a Safety Manager Lead to join our team, bringing their expertise in environmental, health, and safety to ensure compliance with regulations and promote a safe working environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the occupational safety programs at one of our sites. As a key member of the site's EHS Committee, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate hazards, develop and implement safety protocols, and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical guidance on occupational safety, focusing on hazard recognition, evaluation, and control.
• Develop and implement effective safety procedures, work practices, and equipment standards to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct regular self-assessment programs, policy reviews, and procedures to ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
• Review capital renovations and new construction projects to ensure environmental, industrial hygiene, and safety considerations are addressed.
• Participate in legal and regulatory agency audits and inspections, representing the site as needed.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (PE preferred).
• At least five years of experience in environmental, health, and safety, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Familiarity with applicable federal and state regulations, including those related to hazardous materials, OSHA, and EPA.
• Proven leadership skills, with experience in developing and implementing safety programs.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
