Job Summary:

As a Cart Retriever at Walmart, you will play a vital role in maintaining the appearance and functionality of the store's exterior. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that shopping carts are readily available for customers and that the parking lot area is clean and organized. This position requires a strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Cart Retrieval: Collect shopping carts from the parking lot and other designated areas throughout the store premises, and push or pull them to designated cart corrals or return areas.
  2. Cart Maintenance: Inspect shopping carts for damages, defects, or malfunctioning wheels, and report any issues to management for repair. Perform minor repairs or adjustments to carts as needed.
  3. Parking Lot Cleanup: Remove debris, litter, and stray items from the parking lot area, including trash, empty boxes, and abandoned carts. Sweep or power wash designated areas to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
  4. Customer Assistance: Assist customers with loading items into their vehicles or returning carts to the store entrance. Provide directions or guidance to customers looking for parking spaces or other store amenities.
  5. Safety Awareness: Ensure that cart retrieval activities are performed safely and responsibly, following established safety protocols and guidelines. Watch for and report any safety hazards or obstacles in the parking lot area.

  • Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor with a commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
