Job Summary:

The Boston Medical Center Police Officer is responsible for enforcing hospital policies and Massachusetts laws. This role involves conducting patrols, performing traffic duties, conducting investigations, promoting crime prevention, and providing community policing services to the BMC community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrol BMC properties to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Conduct investigations and gather evidence to support criminal cases.
  • Make lawful arrests and handle criminal processes in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws.
  • Provide community policing services, including community outreach and engagement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a safe and secure environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in police, security, or customer service.
  • Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification preferred.
  • CPR certification and Massachusetts Class A License to Carry a firearm required.
