Job Description

This is a highly challenging and rewarding role that requires expertise in designing and implementing cloud infrastructure and platform services. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring alignment of platform capabilities with our cloud strategy.

The main responsibilities include executing the design and enablement of approved cloud infrastructure and platform services, understanding cloud design principles, architectural best practices, and industry standards.

The role also involves designing and supporting the implementation of solutions based on cloud Well Architected Frameworks that are highly available, cost-efficient, fault-tolerant, and scalable.

In addition, the candidate will be responsible for delivering and supporting Cloud Architecture artifacts, based on defined standards for Cloud COE - from an application, platform, and infrastructure perspective.

They will also lead the design and support the implementation of large migrations of existing applications to AWS, and support the design and implementation of enterprise data platforms using a combination of AWS and other cloud services.

The candidate will partner with existing enterprise IT organization to integrate Cloud infrastructure/network environment with corporate infrastructure/data center environment.

Other responsibilities include leading the design of reference architectures for enterprise standard technologies, providing input to the DevOps team for the implementation of codified stacks that meet the needs of the applications, and participating in the establishment of architectural standards that enable DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code and CI/CD.

The successful candidate will actively contribute to the development and validation of cloud policies, standards, and procedures, and translate organizational-level business requirements and use cases into platform capabilities verified to meet the requirements.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant IT experience.
  • 5+ years working with public cloud platforms. At least 3 with AWS.
  • Experience with data center operations.
  • Experience architecting cloud infrastructures on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for small, medium-scale, and enterprise-level applications in a highly regulated environment.
  • Broad experience with cloud adoption, including application readiness assessment, prototyping of new environments, server builds, data migration, and performance tuning of cloud environments.
  • Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps and working in an agile environment.

The salary for this position is around $120,000 per year, based on the title, job description, and location.
