Steel Fabrication Specialist

At Commercial Metals Company, we're looking for a skilled Steel Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As a Steel Fabrication Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of mill stands, guides, and associated equipment to determine needed repairs. You will also make all necessary repairs using blueprints and reading skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following safety rules and regulations
  • Conduct thorough inspections of mill stands, guides, and associated equipment
  • Make all necessary repairs using blueprints and reading skills
  • Assist rolling mill employees with product changeover and troubleshooting
  • Recognize and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
Requirements:
  • Fundamental knowledge of bearings, power transmission equipment, electrical, hydraulic/pneumatics, lubrication, and fluid pumping systems
  • Working knowledge of inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gages, microscopes, etc.
  • Able to read blueprints
  • Ability to work with exposure to extremes in temperature, chemical, dust fumes, and mists
  • Basic computer skills
  • Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
