What You'll Do Ability to troubleshoot all aspects of Medium/High Voltage equipment for an industrial steel production facilityLead facility's annual testing and inspection requirementsDiagnose and remedy complex problems related to EAF and LF performance, incoming power irregularities and substation problemsDiagnose and remedy complex problems related to SVC systems, transformer protection Relays, complex faults and trips in all protectiveAssist in developing other team member's skills and knowledgeServe as Shift Supervisor in his/her absence and provide supervisory support, as necessaryInstall, monitor, inspect, troubleshoot, and ensure reliability of all electrical, electronic control systems and components, process equipment, and AC/DC utilitiesPerform troubleshooting and repair or replacement of defective and damaged partsLearn and maintain the variety of electromechanical starters and motors using sophisticated electronic interface boards, VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and controllersProcure supplies and spare parts to ensure effective and timely maintenance of equipmentMaintain and revise instruction manuals, drawings, schematics, maintenance logs, and other documentation, as requiredPerforms other duties as assigned What You'll Need Minimum 2 years electrical maintenance experience preferredCMMS experience preferredPLC troubleshooting experience preferredRequired to know and understand Arc Regulation, Furnace Grounding systems and Maintenance, induced Harmonics and the related mitigation technologyMust understand and demonstrate abilities in the following; Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Arc Regulation, and Arc Flash SafetyMust understand and demonstrate abilities in the following; Predictive Maintenance Technology, Furnace Grounding Systems and Testing, Induced Harmonics and related mitigation technologyExperience with Electrical relay control maintenance and repair proficiency, especially for cranesExtensive experience in maintenance of electrical control and distribution systems and analog and digital circuitsExtensive experience in maintenance of relay and ladder logic, industrial communications networks, instrumentation and automation control systemsExperience or formal education and lab training on PLCs, or the ability to navigate block logic, ladder logic, or other digital logic interfacesExperience with MRO system, SAP system preferredExperience in manufacturing equipment processes and working knowledge of associated controlsTraining and/or experience in instrument and sensor calibrationKnowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic circuit componentsCompetent in the use of hand tools as well as electrical and electronic test equipmentExperience in a heavy industrial environment is preferred, but not requiredExperience with industrial electrical repairs including troubleshooting and repair of electrical valves and switchesExperience with industrial electrical repairs including troubleshooting and repair of A/C - D/C drives and motors, PLC's and 480 Volt 3 phase electricalPossess specific knowledge of both hydraulic and electrical systems and equipmentMust be able to read technical documents and manuals and write job instructional training documentsMust be able to work effectively with others by sharing ideas in a constructive, positive mannerMust practice safe working habits and follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulationsMust be able to push and pull up to 90 lbs, carry 50 lbs, and climb ladders and stepsMust be able to work overtime and cross train as requiredMust be able to work outside under all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold temperatures Your Education High School Diploma or GED requiredGraduate of an instrumentation, electronics or mechatronics program from a recognized trade school.
