Medical Assistant II

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant II to join our Dermatology team at Massachusetts General Hospital. As a Medical Assistant II, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical staff in the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Review daily patient schedules and ensure all necessary preparations are in place for efficient patient flow.
- Accompany patients from the reception area to the examination room and prepare them for excisions, physical examinations, and other procedures.
- Set up for skin biopsies and surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available.
- Coordinate practice activities with the Medical Director and Nurse Manager to ensure high-quality patient care and maintain supplies and equipment.
- Perform complex troubleshooting to resolve patient and provider issues.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and maintain accurate records.
- Comply with HIPAA laws and maintain confidentiality.
- Assist with more complex procedures, provide wound care, and postoperative instructions.
- Obtain and record vital signs as needed.
- Document all patient interactions in Epic, under the supervision of a medical director and/or nursing staff.
- Assist with orientation and training of new staff.
- Organize and coordinate special projects as needed.
- Graduate of an approved MGH Medical Assistant Program or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant in a comparable setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
