Substance Abuse Counselor

Job Summary:

WestCare is seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing individual and group therapies to clients struggling with substance abuse.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct targeted evaluations of clients to assess their substance abuse needs.
• Develop and implement treatment plans to help clients achieve their goals.
• Provide individual and group therapies to clients, focusing on substance abuse and social skills.
• Collaborate with the social worker to develop and implement service plans.
• Conduct visits to penal institutions as required by the program or project.
• Review records and ensure compliance with eligibility documents.
• Participate in daily support group activities and conduct substance abuse service activities.
• Represent WestCare in court and/or arbitration proceedings.
• Assess client needs and develop goals and objectives to help them reintegrate into the community.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Social Work or Substance Abuse Counseling degree. Valid license to practice as a Social Worker. Certification in addiction services. Bilingual and excellent writing skills.
