System Safety Engineer

LinQuest is seeking a highly skilled System Safety Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA. As a System Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our space systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate ESOH risks identified by the government, contractors, or other stakeholders
  • Prepare ESOH documents and provide system safety support for Space Flight Worthiness certification
  • Review and participate in government evaluations of contractor documentation to hazard analyses, mitigation strategies, and safety assessments
  • Advise the government team on safety risk assessments and prepare safety risk assessments for acceptance or for further mitigation
  • Prepare documents including but not limited to: Programmatic Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Evaluation (PESHE) and Space Debris Assessment Report/End of Life Plan for space vehicles
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science
  • 4+ years' experience in systems engineering
  • 1+ years' experience in Systems Safety engineering, to include System Safety Engineering practices, techniques, and procedures and working with System Safety military standards and regulations
  • Ability to coordinate with numerous stakeholders and customers
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable working and interfacing with diverse personnel and working in a dynamic team environment
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • BS in technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science
  • MS degree
  • Certifications in Systems Engineering (INCOSE ESEP, CSEP)
  • Knowledge and experience in Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with MILSATCOM, such as AEHF, EPS, WGS, and FAB-T terminal programs
  • Experience working with military and DoD civilian clients
  • Experience and familiarity experience working on a government space systems program
  • Experience working on a Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) contract
  • Active Secret Clearance or higher
