Job Title: Safety and Environmental Manager

About the Role:
Integrated Power Services (IPS) is a leading solution provider for power management, electro-mechanical, and rotating assets. We are seeking a dedicated Safety and Environmental Manager to join our team of industry-leading talent. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for assisting management in formulating site strategies, developing individual yearly objectives, and improving the review system. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing all aspects of the Continuous Improvement Operating System, including pay for skills training and new employee training.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform safety training programs, maintain and update Job Hazard Analysis, new communication methods, Lean tools, implement 5S, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop a safety discipline focused on creating a best-in-class employee work environment, clear communication, and engagement from all levels of management.
  • Administer all environmental and government reporting programs to ensure locations are at the highest standards of environmental awareness, disposals, and environmentally conscious purchasing.
  • Develop and implement all safety, emergency, and security programs, with related training, including development.
  • Partner with managers to define necessary skills and team development, putting the right people in the right roles.
  • Participate in steering committees, safety council meetings, and senior-level presentations when needed.

Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Shop or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety or Business preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Continuous Improvement preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability and determination to move operational initiatives forward, using performance metrics and benchmarks to track progress, and the ability to use fact-based persuasion to influence key stakeholders.
  • Experience balancing strategy and execution, ability to get 'hands-on' with the business while understanding the processes needed to deliver results.
  • Strong project management skills and process orientation.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite tools.
