Waste Removal Operator

Job Requirements:
Aaa Environmental Industries Inc is seeking a reliable and efficient Waste Removal Operator to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operate a residential / recycling collection truck, ancillary equipment and hydraulic system to collect solid waste and/or recyclables on specified collection routes.
2. Load solid waste, yard waste and/or recyclables into the rear or side of waste collection vehicles.
3. Operate equipment on trucks to compact trash into vehicles.
4. Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and reports, daily truck reports, route sheets and other documentation requested by supervisors daily.
5. Communicate vehicle mechanical problems to mechanics and supervisors immediately.
6. Maintain route quality standards as predetermined by management.
7. Follow all safety standards and equipment checks and precautions in performance of all duties.
8. Comply with all federal, state/provincial, local and company rules on safety and vehicle operation.
9. Maintain clean vehicles by cleaning cab interiors and exteriors.
10. Identify and tag prohibited waste items and remove them from waste carts or cans.
11. Manage assigned helpers if applicable.
12. Conform to all applicable federal, state/provincial and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.
13. Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
14. Report all accidents or incidents to supervisors immediately.
15. Exhibit a professional demeanor, manner and appearance at all times.
16. Maintain accurate records of services performed.
17. Maintain inventory of containers and residential carts and spare parts available and recommend purchase of additional containers, carts and spare parts to supervisors.
18. Work closely with supervisors to improve routing efficiencies.
19. May be required to work overtime.
20. Attend safety and branch meetings.
21. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.

Requirements:
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is desired. A commercial driver's license (CDL) is required, along with a minimum of one year of commercial driving experience or a CDL school certificate. The ability to meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards is also required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The successful candidate will have knowledge of the truck and its components and basic maintenance requirements for safe operation. They will also be able to control the operations of equipment, maneuver the truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, use mirrors to back distances of approximately 120 feet or more, recognize unacceptable waste, communicate effectively with internal and external customers, read, write and comprehend associated documents and maps, and understand and follow oral and written instructions.
