HybridCollins Aerospace Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico (GETC-PR) is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our organization. We are looking for a strong, passionate problem-solver with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.
In this role you will be responsible for executing Systems Engineering related activities, for the projects assigned, in alignment with the business’s current procedures and practices. This will involve collaborating with internal and external customers in the development and integration of innovative technology and products for the next generation of advanced engine and aircraft systems.
This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Evaluate external and internal customer needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Perform System integration of engine control system components, including electronic engine controls, control effectors and sensors, and hydro mechanical components such as: engine actuators, fuel pumps, and fuel controls. Control system analysis to support requirements development/verification. System level coordination of engine requirements and verification planning with multi-disciplinary teams within Collins Aerospace and with our customers. Focus for this position is Electrical and Electronic products and subsystems. Requirements Management and Allocation. Architecture Development. Support issue investigation for development and fielded hardware, software, and subsystems using relentless Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process.Qualifications/Experience Needed:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 5 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written). U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in engine/aircraft system design. Experience leveraging strong communication skills. Experience with electrical, electronic, and sensing components and subsystems. Demonstrated proficiency with DOORs, Matlab, Dymola (or similar physics based modeling application), Cameo Systems Modeler (or similar SYSML application) Experience in Engine Control Systems Demonstrated experience with Model Based Design Tools & Practices Experience in Fuel and Actuation Systems Demonstrated experience with Hardware Integration Experience with System Dynamic Modeling, System Verification and ValidationCollins Aerospace, an RTX business, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry.
