As a Senior Software Engineer , you will contribute to a cross disciplinary environment within the Avionics team. You will also thrive on tackling challenges, as you will develop and integrate leading-edge software tools, supercomputing clusters, and real-time software embedded solutions.
This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.
What YOU will do:
You will measure and analyze software designs for equipment/products to ensure current and future needs of the business are met. You will build and implement procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and functions. You will operate equipment and computer systems for testing and software design purposes to facilitate operations and ensure that established objectives are achieved. You will design, develop, document, test and debug control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. You will conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. You will determine end user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition. You will develop test plan, procedures and code You will develop software configuration standards for company-wide use. Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 5 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.Qualifications you must have:
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract. Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written). 3+ years working experience in analysis, design and development of simple applications or portions of more complex applications. 3+ years working experience in code review or performance monitoring or related.Skills we value:
Experience with object-oriented programming languages (C++, Python, ADA) Experience in developing/modifying software based on functional specifications. Experience in software verification based on DO-178 or related Previous experience working in the aerospace industry Experience conducting test planning & unit- tests Experience in code review or performance monitoring Experience in National Instruments LABVIEW Experience with communication buses (ARINC-429, ARINC-664, CAN, TTP) Experience with Linux and/or Windows System Administration Experience in Hardware/Software integration and troubleshooting Knowledge of Agile software developmentCollins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry.
