The Financial Planning & Analysis team safeguards the financial health of Abarca while maintaining relationships based on trust with our clients and internal teams. The Financial Analysts keep a keen eye on assets, revenues, sales, and expenses to make sure all those budgets are squared up, and monitor how our information flows to make sure all disclosures, transactions, data, and compliance are handled per policy as well as client and government standards. We also have an Internal Auditing team supporting internal controls and critical reviews. Together they collaborate across the rest of the Finance division to keep the budget accounted for and our analysis on point for the best business decisions possible.

As our Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for compiling financial reports and dashboard that show how we have performed through the month, the quarter, and the year. You’ll be helping to prepare and analyze financial budgets, forecasts, and reports, and assist the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis with reporting the Company’s financial status to the VP of Finance and President by preparing and analyzing financial executive summaries and reports. You will be privy to confidential information and must maintain confidentiality of all financial data. Your ability to identify key drivers, narrow down the root causes, and foresee how the company will track against its goals will be key in this role. The ideal candidate for this position will maximize data mining and business intelligence tools to add agility and granularity to our deliverables.

What you’ll do

Develop, consolidate, and analyze budgets and quarterly forecasts for assigned division/companies, including monitoring of reported results vs. projections and variance analysis. Provide timely, relevant, and accurate reporting & analysis of the results of the company’s performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making regarding achieving the budget and strategic plan. Supply targeted analyses on results, adding clarity by highlighting transaction drivers and impact on short- and longer-term financial plans. Draft finance executive summaries (including reports with key performance indicators, fluctuations and variances) and present them, as requested. Analyze financial and operational trends and create financial models under different scenarios to support decision making. Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting. Guide the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures. Identify the financial impact of new business processes, changing operational assumptions, and Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools to track performance by customers and lines of business, taking advantage of data mining, business intelligence tools, and robotic process automation (RPA).

The bold requirements…

Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance. (In lieu of a degree, equivalent relevant experience may be considered.) 4+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, data modeling, and reporting. High proficiency in financial modeling techniques. Proven work experience in a quantitatively-heavy role. Advanced knowledge of Excel. Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions. Experience with data query/data management tools (Power BI, Access, SQL, Business Objects). You must be able to hold important information in confidence. Strong analytical and data gathering skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. A solid work ethic with a positive can-do attitude. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Nice to have…

Fluency in Spanish is a plus. Experience using Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
