Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Part-Time Store Associate to join our team at Office Depot.


Main Responsibilities:



  • Provide exceptional customer service by performing duties as cashier, providing logistics support, stocking, restocking, down stocking, inventory control, cleaning the store, and protecting company assets.
  • Perform merchandise-related activities to ensure merchandise presentation guidelines are met through implementing planogram changes and updates, merchandise set, and price changes. Set weekly ads, including price changes, and any associated updates to store signage.
  • Follow established sorting and stocking guidelines and complete freight processes. Ensure freight sorting area is organized and set up in accordance with guidelines. Scan, investigate, and fill inventory lows and outs daily.
  • Proactively acknowledge and engage every customer to ensure a positive customer experience. Utilize and understand the selling program to promote the sale of the best solution as well as additional product and/or services solutions. Maintain awareness of planned advertisements and promotions.
  • Evaluate customers' needs to determine what additional offerings or services that a customer may need in addition to determining if a customer should be referred to the Contract Sales organization.
  • Develop personal selling skills and specialized product knowledge through sales and service tools provided. Drive Technology, Tech Services, Furniture, and Print sales by supporting all related current programs, new product launches, and special initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and practices and support company loss prevention efforts.
  • Complete successful Tech, Print, and other applicable training and continued education in these areas, up to and including designated certifications, if required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:



  • High School diploma or equivalent education preferred
  • No previous experience required
  • Retail sales experience preferred
  • Language Skills: Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills, which are necessary to establish a selling relationship with customers and other employees.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and G-Mail
  • Must possess the ability to use computers and technology for information and to access information necessary to complete the job.
  • Must possess the ability to process information/merchandise through the POS register system.
  • Must be able to read, count, and write to accurately complete documentation, utilize training tools, and process inventory.
  • Must possess the ability to work with computers to process information/inventory through computer systems.
  • Must enjoy interacting with people.

Eligible to participate in the Retail Store Hourly Non-Management Incentive, a program measured on Store-level Metrics, paid in accordance with the Incentive Plan terms and conditions.
