Overview

New Store Opening in a Growing Market

Burlington Stores is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Store Security Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in creating a safe and enjoyable shopping environment for our customers.

As a Store Security Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring the entrance of our store, identifying potential security threats, and preventing theft and shoplifting. Your positive attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain a professional appearance at all times, wearing the designated dress standards, radio, and earpiece.
  2. Stand positioned at the front of the store, remaining vigilant and aware of your surroundings.
  3. Greet every customer entering or exiting the store with a warm smile and a loud, friendly greeting, promoting a sense of control and security.
  4. Create a secure environment and reduce opportunities for theft.

Knowledge and Communication:

  1. Possess a knowledge mastery of top shortage areas and support programs aimed at theft reduction.
  2. Effectively communicate information about theft prevention during store rallies, collaborating with the Manager on Duty.
  3. Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates, ensuring adherence to safety and security standards.
  4. Understand the role you play in keeping your store and assets safe and secure.

Support and Guidance:

  1. Provide support in training associates on shortage reduction programs and processes.
  2. Role-model safety as a top priority and address any unsafe practices promptly.

Experience and Requirements:

  1. 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, AP/LP, or Operations is preferred.
  2. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment.
  3. Ability to maintain confidentiality as required.
  4. Ability to review, analyze, and comprehend business trends.
  5. Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.
  6. Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making.
  7. Excellent communication with customers and co-workers.
  8. Excellent leadership skills that support fostering productive business relationships.

Burlington Stores offers a competitive wage, flexible hours, and an associate discount. Part-time associates, based on hours worked, may be eligible for Burlington's benefits package which includes medical coverage and a 401(k) plan. Part-time associates may also be eligible for up to 4 hours of paid time off annually after one year of service, up to 8 paid holidays, and paid sick time in accordance with applicable law.
