Electrical Design Engineer Role Overview

Automated Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our Pharmaceutical Process Automation Group. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems for automated machines and equipment used in manufacturing of pharmaceutical sterile liquids and medical device assembly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with mechanical designers to design electrical systems that enable machines to perform their intended functions safely and reliably.
  • Formulate and produce complete electrical design packages, including detailed electrical and pneumatic schematics, cable routing diagrams, panel layouts, bills of materials, and material requisitions.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Controls Engineering Department and other groups to continuously improve methods of integrating controls technology.
  • Specify electrical and controls-related hardware and software and produce requisitions for material purchases.
  • Integrate third-party equipment and electronic component entry into electrical design packages.
  • Verify that electrical design packages are complete, accurate, and safe based on sound design practices and accepted standards.
  • Work with customers, project engineers, controls engineers, designers, and technicians to solve problems and provide complete, functional systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing electrical systems for automated equipment, preferably in the pharmaceutical or related industries.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical).
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles, including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
