The ideal candidate will have experience working with youth, display healthy behavior modeling, and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Job Summary:The Relief Youth Development Specialist will provide coverage support for our clubs, delivering quality and developmentally appropriate programs, activities, services, and special events. This role requires flexibility to work at different locations as needed and to adapt to changing circumstances.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver remote learning support for BGCB members, core programs, and activities as directed.
- Provide supervision and discipline of members participating in programs and services within the program area and throughout the clubhouse.
- Participate in collaborative programs and events with staff from other clubhouse departments and community organizations.
- Secure and maintain materials, equipment, and other resources belonging to the program area(s).
- Participate in individual and group supervision sessions and professional development opportunities.
- Assess our impact through various evaluation efforts, including the annual member survey.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience providing recreation programs for youth.
- Knowledge of youth development principles.
- CPR/FA certification.
- Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- MS Office and web competency preferred.
- Ability to work with youth and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The Relief Youth Development Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities. The role requires flexibility to work at different locations and to work independently and as part of a team.
