Job Title: Director – Cwjc

Job Summary:

The Central West Justice Center (CWJC) is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director to oversee the programmatic, personnel, administrative, and financial matters of the program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management, leadership, and legal services, with a passion for serving low-income and elderly populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the programmatic, personnel, administrative, and financial matters of the program.
  • Work closely with front-line staff to ensure they have the support and supervision they need to deliver high-quality legal services and conduct effective outreach.
  • Conduct periodic program-wide staff meetings and work with senior supervising attorneys to write annual performance reviews.
  • Be the first point of contact for clients or applicants with grievances or complaints.
  • Handle personnel issues arising in the program and attend regular labor-management meetings.
  • Assist in handling issues arising with the physical plant and prepare comprehensive reports for the Board of Managers.
  • May assist in writing grant applications and reports, and occasionally assist with outreach and advocacy efforts.

Requirements:

  • Must be an experienced attorney licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or eligible for admission to the bar at the time of hiring.
  • Experience working with low-income populations and strong supervision and communication skills.
  • Legal advocacy experience working on cases involving immigration, housing, and/or public benefits a plus.
  • Experience in management, administrative, or leadership positions in a non-profit legal or human services program strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a management team and demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Benefits:

  • Salary range: $105,000 – $140,000 annually, depending on experience.
  • Generous benefits package, including 401(k) with employer-paid contribution, low-cost health insurance, malpractice insurance, paid leave, law school loan repayment assistance, and relocation stipend.
