Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrophysiology Technologist to join our team at Sutter Health. As an Electrophysiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing non-invasive cortical neurophysiological testing with minimal supervision, in accordance with physician's orders and historical information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inpatient electroencephalogram (EEG) testing in all areas of the hospital, including neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) / intensive care unit (ICU), WADA (intracarotid sodium amobarbital procedure), and outpatient testing.
  • May also be asked to provide break relief for staff at the monitor station.
  • Work with all age groups.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment and take appropriate actions in volatile situations.
  • Must be able to understand, read, and write the English language.
  • Must be able to type a minimum of 55 wpm.
  • Ability to work around strong smells (i.e. collodion, acetone, bleach, hospital cleaner).
  • Ability to work with patients with special needs or altered level of consciousness.
  • Ability to work alone or with a team, ensuring ongoing communication between coworkers and shifts.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist ll (preferred).
  • REEGT-Registered Electroencephalographic/Neurodiagnostic Technologist if performing EEGs.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the neurology system.
  • Knowledge of electro neurologic testing and associated equipment.
  • Knowledge of acute care setting, performing electro encephalogram (EEG) procedures on infant, pediatric, and adult patients.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with TJC (The Joint Commission) accreditation standards.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $46.14 to $57.67, with a higher rate of $61.16 to $76.44 for Registered EEG Techs. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package and a dynamic work environment.
