Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled EEG Technician to join our team at Sutter Health. As an EEG Technician, you will be responsible for performing non-invasive cortical neurophysiological testing with minimal supervision, in accordance with physician's orders and historical information. This includes inpatient electroencephalogram (EEG) testing in all areas of the hospital, including neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) /intensive care unit (ICU), WADA (intracarotid sodium amobarbital procedure), and outpatient testing including routine and ambulatory.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform EEG testing on infant, pediatric, and adult patients
  • Work with minimal supervision to ensure accurate and timely testing
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care
  • Maintain EEG/Electrophysiology (EP) equipment in good working order
  • Adhere to standard precautions and hospital policies

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
  • REEGT-Registered Electroencephalographic/Neurodiagnostic Technologist certification (if performing EEGs)
  • EMG-Certified Electromyographic Technologist certification (if performing EMG procedures)
  • 1-year recent relevant experience
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
