Purpose: As a key member of the Hospital San Juan Capestrano team, this role is responsible for facilitating effective communication on nursing units, ensuring seamless interactions between staff, patients, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assemble and maintain accurate patient charts for admissions, transfers, and discharges in accordance with facility policies.
• Answer phone calls professionally and timely, directing calls to the right individuals or taking messages as necessary.
• Maintain meticulous patient records and administrative reports, guaranteeing data accuracy and reliability.
• Perform various clerical duties related to updating, organizing, and disseminating information on nursing units.
• Coordinate administrative tasks within and between units, ensuring efficient workflow and collaboration.
• Provide timely reports to immediate supervisors, addressing critical information and concerns.
• Respond to inquiries and requests from staff and patients, demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
• Conduct maintenance tasks to ensure chart order, accuracy, and currency, guaranteeing compliance with established standards.
• Manage office and medical supplies, preparing requisitions to maintain optimal inventories as required.
• Fax and photocopy information as needed, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to security protocols.
• Deliver incoming and outgoing mail to designated units, distributing announcements and posting memos as necessary.
• Procure lab, x-ray, and consult reports when required, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
• Identify and report equipment or environmental issues promptly, facilitating swift resolution and corrective action.

Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preference given to candidates with experience in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent customer service and administrative/clerical skills essential.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required, with training available upon hire and offered by the facility.
• First aid certification may be necessary based on state or facility requirements.
