Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Collections Specialist to join our team in San Juan, PR. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

About the Role

This position plays a critical role in creating a quality experience for patients by resolving issues related to claims and accounts receivable. As a Healthcare Collections Specialist, you will work closely with various teams to identify and resolve problems efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Comply with departmental Business Rules and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Focus on decreasing accounts receivable, increasing cash flow, and reducing bad debt
  • Interpret explanation of benefits for follow-up action
  • Utilize payer portals to verify eligibility, claim status, and obtain better claim insight information
  • Work directly from our main system to review and resolve claims accurately
  • Review and research denied claims by navigating multiple systems
  • Communicate with Patient Access or other departments to ensure clear understanding on claims errors/issues and trends
  • Conduct data entry and re-work for adjudication of claims
  • Meet performance goals established for efficiency, accuracy, quality, client satisfaction, and attendance
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 6+ months of experience in Collections, Billing, or Healthcare Claims
  • Experience using computer applications, including Windows PC software and solid keyboard navigation skills
  • Ability to learn new computer programs
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Professional proficiency in English and Spanish (bilingual)

The estimated annual salary for this role is $$44,000-$60,000, based on location and experience.
