Sterile Processing Technician II Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician II to join our team at Boston Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Central Processing Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transporting and restocking surgical instrumentation and medical materials in designated areas
  • Receiving, sorting, cleaning, and decontaminating reusable instruments and equipment
  • Operating and maintaining cleaning and decontamination equipment
  • Inspecting and preparing surgical instruments for sterilization
  • Assembling and loading sterilizers
  • Providing excellent customer service and responding to requests and problems

Requirements:

  • Certification of Sterile/Central Processing
  • High school degree or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year's experience in Sterile Processing
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation and power surgical instruments
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
