At Boston Medical Center, our mission is to deliver exceptional and equitable care to all. As an Emergency Department Technician, you will play a vital role in providing direct clinical and support services to patients in our Psychiatric Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide patient-centered care, including vital signs, bathing, and feeding, under the direction of a registered nurse.
  2. Assist with hygiene, cleaning rooms and linens, and emotional support for patients and their families.
  3. Perform environmental and inventory activities to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  4. Contribute to the efficient operation of the Psychiatric Emergency Department, ensuring quality patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Ability to pass clinical competency testing
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
  • Basic math and computer proficiency
  • Previous experience in an acute hospital setting, or completion of an approved Emergency Department Technician training program
