Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Donor Development Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with hospitals, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to promote organ and tissue donation. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Responsibilities:
- Perform first responder responsibilities in coordination with the recovery staff, including physical assessment, hemodynamic status, and verification of next-of-kin.
- Assist Referral Coordinator and Administrator-on-call as directed.
- Participate on an On-Call Schedule.
- Document referral information in a timely manner.
- Respond on-site at the hospital to evaluate patients' medical and social information, communicate with the recovery staff, and document in iTransplant.
- Hospital Staff Development:
- Develop and maintain relationships with hospital staff, including physicians, residents, nurses, and ancillary staff.
- Maintain high visibility on all shifts and determine each hospital's unique working environment and organizational structures.
- Evaluate process, progress, and effectiveness of interactions and set new goals to advance program development and relationships.
- Provide education regarding the donation process through written and verbal communication.
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement hospital-specific plans based on data analysis, goals, and objectives.
- Update and modify plans continuously to ensure optimal referral and donation performance.
- Enlist the assistance and participation of various coordinator staff to participate in development efforts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN/RN).
- Minimum of three years of sound clinical experience in an intensive care unit or emergency room.
- Ability to apply sound judgment working with little direct supervision.
- Demonstrated public speaking and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a positive work environment and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
- Reliable vehicle with a good driving record and current State/Commonwealth license.
- 24-hour availability via cell phone as needed.
Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on location and experience. This salary range reflects the company's commitment to compensating its employees fairly for their expertise and dedication.
