Residential Manager Job Description

ACLD, a leading not-for-profit agency, empowers individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve independence and aspirations. With over 70 program sites in Nassau and Suffolk, we provide life-changing support to children, teens, and adults.

Job Summary

We seek a seasoned Residential Manager to oversee the daily operations of an adult residential group home. The ideal candidate will possess strong managerial skills, excellent communication, and the ability to maintain effective relationships with our supported individuals, families, staff, and external departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a positive and productive work environment
  • Lead the hiring, training, and coaching of direct care employees, including the Assistant Manager
  • Develop and manage Individual Service Plans and Plans of Protection/Behavior Support Plans
  • Ensure oversight of Health & Fire Safety
  • Manage crisis situations and behavioral issues as needed
  • Manage budgets and ensure sound fiscal management procedures
  • Ensure accurate documentation and service billing
  • Diligently comply with OPWDD and ACLD policies, rules, and regulations

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Two years of experience working in the I/DD field
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Strong managerial skills and written and verbal communication skills
  • Clean and valid New York drivers license
  • Strong Microsoft Office computer skills

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, requiring flexibility in work schedule, including at least one evening and one early morning shift per week, and weekend hours. Position is also required to be on-call.
