Job Summary

The AHD Cook at Park Bridge is responsible for preparing, cooking, and dispensing food in quantity in a kitchen. This role requires maintaining cooking equipment and working areas, as well as performing related duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Carve meat for serving and oversee the serving of food, ensuring prompt apportionment to tray line and cafeteria.
2. Clean utensils and equipment, and maintain working areas in good order, adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
3. Cook meat, fish, vegetables, soups, cereals, and other foods using commercial cooking equipment.
4. Deliver food to various locations promptly and safely.
5. Prepare salads and desserts for cafeteria, patients, and catering.
6. Prepare dough and bake cakes, cookies, and other pastries and desserts.
7. Prepare meats and vegetables for cooking using electric meat grinders, vegetable peelers, and slicers.
8. Relieve other cooks for breaks and act as Lead Cook on a relief or training basis.
9. Requisition, receive, inspect, and store food stuffs, and inform supervisor of supplies needed.
10. Provide excellent customer service to all customers.
11. Demonstrate commitment to work unit and to AHS as a whole, role-modeling commitment to co-workers and patients.

Requirements

Minimum Experience: One year of experience in the class of Assistant Cook with Alameda Health System; OR two years of experience in quantity cooking for at least 200 people per meal in an institutional kitchen.
