Precision Machinist

Roles and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced machine tool operator to work with our team at Cenergy International. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling and automated Fiber and Tape Placement machines to produce precision composite parts.
• Retrieve and download CNC programs to machine controller.
• Set machine coordinates or index points per CNC documents.
• Adjust offset/compensations, tool heights and laser, using controller keyboard and or pendant as required.
• Monitor machine during operation for unusual vibration or sounds, watch machine gauges and controller display or digital readout for warnings.
• Visually check for clearance to ensure smooth operation of the machine.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the appropriate machine operations and sequences.
• Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet specifications using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in machining or a related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• 2+ years of experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment.
• 2+ years of experience in production operations with an understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures.
• 3+ years of experience in machining, robotics, or numerical control programming.
• 1+ years of experience in composites.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines is a plus.
• Experience in troubleshooting systems, and root cause and corrective action analysis.
• Strong understanding of machining techniques and materials, including metals and composites.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Familiarity with safety standards and procedures in a manufacturing setting.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, typically up to 50 lbs.
• Standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.
• Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Work Schedule:

• 2nd shift 4/10 Monday Thursday and 3/10 shift Friday - Sunday.
