System Security Technician

• Work under direct supervision to complete assigned programming, commissioning, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of security / fire systems per contract obligations.
• Assist experienced personnel in resolving system problems, either by troubleshooting the system or advising others on how to resolve issues.
• Perform required commissioning documentation and provide accurate information for as-builts documentation.
• Maintain safety standards and adhere to local and national codes, prioritizing employee and subcontractor safety.
• Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site, and engage in proactive customer interactions to understand their needs, wants, and systems currently in place.
• Monitor project execution per plan and report any problems or changes to supervisors or management.
• Complete paperwork and on-site documentation as required.
• Pursue self-study (reading, research, and practice) to obtain technical proficiency on required products and applications.

• An Associate degree diploma, plus demonstrated technical aptitude is required; one year of experience in installing fire or security systems, or a combination of education and experience is preferred.
• Electronics certification from an accredited technical school or military electronics training is desired.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts.
• Basic computer skills and attention to detail are required.
• Able to explain technical information to non-technical people.
