Job Summary

This role is responsible for leading the development and execution of power finance strategies, leveraging professional networks to originate new business opportunities, and managing customer relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial lending, investment banking, or project finance advisory, with experience in leading deal teams and credit analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage professional networks to originate new business opportunities and achieve assigned production targets.
  • Manage customer relationships, assist with the management of key external constituents, and lead discussions with clients and internal/external counterparts to obtain and execute syndicated and highly-structured financings.
  • Independently attend client meetings, conferences, site visits, and other industry events to establish and maintain credibility with key internal constituents.
  • Negotiate nuanced transaction points directly with clients and present complicated structures to clients, regulators, and key risk management and credit approval functions.
  • Ensure compliance with all related legal requirements and banking regulations, and that all new transactions and portfolios remain within risk tolerances set by the board of directors.
  • Occasional public speaking may be required (industry panels, bank meetings, etc.).
  • Lead execution deal teams (or multiple deal teams as needed) and assist with portfolio management activities.
  • Lead the training and development of team members, review work product to ensure error-free materials, and preserve a high level of analytical integrity.
  • Ensure established business development goals are met, and has authority concerning staffing, performance evaluations, promotions, salary recommendations, and terminations.
  • Responsible for monitoring and management of portfolio credit quality.
Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field and 8+ years of commercial lending, investment banking, project finance advisory, or relevant buy-side experience.
  • 4+ years in leading deal teams in project finance, credit analysis, credit structuring, or other directly related experience.
  • Some supervisory/lead experience required.
  • Considerable working knowledge of complex credit structures, relevant capital markets, credit analysis, administration policies, procedures, and techniques.
  • Advanced analytical and reasoning skills, ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, and advanced knowledge in the assigned lending specialty or market segment.
  • Strong evaluation, problem resolution, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated management skills, extensive professional network of relevant industry contacts, and familiarity with providing and/or cross-selling relevant bank products.
