Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled Dietary Aide to join our team at Tufts Medicine. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the high-quality food service experience for our patients and staff.


Key Responsibilities


• Prepare and deliver patient trays, carts, and nourishments to patients in a timely and accurate manner


• Assemble trays according to menu selection and maintain a clean and organized work environment


• Stock patient care units with food and paper supplies, following proper rotation and par levels


• Transport patient trucks to and from patient floors and perform other duties as required


Requirements


• Ability to operate simple mechanical devices, such as coffee urns and dishmachines


• Ability to use a knife for slicing, cutting, and dicing


• Physical skills required: standing and walking for 95% of the day, straining and lifting approximately 30lbs., pushing loaded carts (approximately 400lbs.)


• Ability to communicate with patients and employees from other departments


• Ability to read, speak basic English, and follow instructions


Working Conditions


• Exposure to heat, cold, steam, chemicals, and hot equipment


• Frequent exposure to garbage and trash


• Potential possibility of cuts, punctures, and strains


• Contact with employees within own department and hospital


• Contact with patients, enters patients' rooms
