Diesel Mechanic Job Description

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Toa Baja, PR. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties on heavy-duty vehicles.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake, and tire work
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers and tools
  • Repair and replace defective components as needed
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints and assign tasks
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification post-secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Two (2) years or more of combination classroom training and work experience in required experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
Benefits:
  • Estimated salary range: $38,000 - $60,000 per year
  • Hourly pay rate: $19.00 per hour
  • Certification bonus up to $700 for new ASE certifications obtained
  • Quarterly bonus up to $500 every quarter
