The Opportunity

This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. Job Responsibilities

As an Associate Director, project leadership, you will be responsible for managing one or more projects with moderate to high complexity. Expedite, manage, and coordinate a multitude of interrelated activities within constraints of limited human and financial resources and changing priorities. Complies with quality system. May be required to establish/manage project budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, plan, coordinate and integrate activities associated with existing products updates or geographic expansion commercialization within the overall business portfolio on time, on budget and on strategy.
  • Coordinate input from multiple areas or multiple project managers on related projects.
  • Identify resource requirements, cost, and time schedules.
  • Develop an implementation plan, conduct risk assessment, and develop contingency plans to accommodate unforeseen events.
  • Assure that projects will effectively integrate with existing programs and strategies so that long- and short-term business goals are attained.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through project planning exercises to develop detailed schedules and integrated project plans.
  • Drive cross-functional teams to meet milestones and deliverables established in project planning and agreed upon with senior leadership.
  • Develop and maintain launch plans such that needed commercial product volumes are available on time and that excess and obsolete inventory is minimized.
  • Solicit the cooperation of a diverse group of disciplines and functions in a tactful and persuasive manner.
  • Manage the decision-making process. Is the final decision-maker for conflicts when in context of agreed upon project plan.
  • Prepare and present project progress reports to keep management and team informed. Identify problems, trends, resolution alternatives and their impact on project success; propose recommendations for management action.

Requirements

You'll need:

  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience.
  • Has successfully led several high complexity projects from beginning to end.
  • Demonstrated technical skills and management judgment appropriate to the project.
  • Demonstrated expertise in PM tools and processes.
  • Commercial, technical, manufacturing, quality, or supply chain experience in a health care/medical device company.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of people at all levels of the organization within a variety of departments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
