The Phlebotomist II serves as a vital link between our hospital laboratory and patients by collecting blood specimens, urine, and other specimens from both inpatients and outpatients, including outreach phlebotomy, under general supervision. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to ensure seamless interactions with patients, healthcare professionals, and laboratory staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect blood specimens, urine, and other specimens from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture and capillary puncture, according to established protocols.
  • Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure patient satisfaction and laboratory efficiency.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory operations and patient care.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or certification in a related field preferred.
  • Previous phlebotomy experience or training in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
